September 11 Legacies and Lessons

You weren't even born when the Terrorist Attacks of September 11th, 2001 took place. However- your world was created by those attacks. Things were very different before. They haven't really recovered since. We are living in a new normal of extra security precautions and facing new threats. American troops along with allies are still in Afghanistan which remains dangerous. They are also in Iraq. Special Forces are operating in Syria, Somalia, and elsewhere in pursuit of Al Quaeda and ISIS groups that have declared war on the world.

What happened on September 11th? Our focus will be on the Pentagon attack this year, but the NYC Attacks on the World Trade Centers, and the story of Flight 93 which was crashed by its passengers in Pennsylvania need to be remembered as well. Their stories, along with the stories of the people whose lives were taken are remembered by these Memorials and Museums.
